Explore the Rainforest

NIGHTCAP RANGES, NSW

Discover the natural beauty of the Byron Bay Hinterland. Explore the mountain trails of an expansive eucalypt forest, home to many native animals, including koalas and wallabies. View a breathtaking landscape atop an ancient rainforest from the region's most magnificent waterfall. An hour-long hike through the rainforest takes you to the freshwater pool at the waterfall's base, perfect for cooling off with a swim.

What's the plan?

Depart from Byron Bay

Minyon Falls Plunge Pool Return Walk

Beginning in a dry eucalypt forest, we will walk for 2km, descending into the 40 million-year-old subtropical rainforest in the valley. After a rock scramble, arrive at a freshwater pool at the waterfall's base. It is the perfect place to cool off with a swim as you feel the full power of the waterfall. We will return with a 2km walk back up through the eucalypt forest, finishing with a view across the valley.
